a million dollar wish

You know how we all love to daydream about winning the lotto and about all of the spectacular splurges that we would make happen immediately?!?  Well, I'm about to fill you in on mine.  Forget all those gorgeous summer homes in those fancy exotic locations and please just let me get my hands on this Yves Klein table d'or.  Plexiglass filled with gold leaf - I would never need another piece of jewelry for the rest of my life. (But, lets not quote me on that one.)

It also comes in a fabulous blue and pink if shiny gold just isn't your thing.

on the topic of versailles...

You must check out this fabulous art installation by Xavier Veilhan at the Château de Versailles this last year.  Unfortunately, the exhibition has ended, but lucky for us, the photos still linger.  As a long time fan of his, I loved the opportunity to view his incredible work juxtaposed with the background of such a luxe historical setting.

Chanel always blows me away, but this time it combined a few of my loves into one.  Versailles (hello Marie Antoinette's fabulous opulence), impeccable fashion (Karl's fabulous opulence), and of course, Paris.

So today I felt compelled to share images of Chanel's Ready to Wear Spring/Summer 2011 show.  This fantastically surreal set was created in the Grand Palais in Paris, transforming the space into a faux Versailles with a contrasting black and white garden complete with marble fountains and sculptural hedges.
